Dallas Waldrop

Full Stack .NET Developer

Senior developer with 10+ years building full-stack solutions in C# / .NET Core, React, and Vue — with deep experience in Azure cloud architecture and enterprise insurance platform integrations. Early and active adopter of AI-augmented development workflows.

A bit about me

I'm a software developer based in Toledo, OH, focused on building reliable, well-structured backend systems and the frontends that connect them. My background spans insurance tech, cloud messaging infrastructure, and enterprise integrations — work that tends to be complex, high-stakes, and rarely glamorous. I find that satisfying.

Over the past couple of years I've invested heavily in AI-augmented development tooling — not just using it, but building with it. Custom Claude API pipelines for workflow automation, daily use of Claude Code CLI, and Copilot-assisted development are now core parts of how I work. I'm looking for a remote-friendly team where that kind of initiative is valued.

  • Designed and built a Holds & Releases workflow engine with automated email notifications and SFTP-based carrier status feeds, supporting concurrent multi-carrier deployments.
  • Authored unit tests for core .NET services; resolved cross-carrier bugs across a TypeScript/React frontend and .NET Core backend.

Things I've written about

March 2026  ·  Engineering

I Built an AI Code Commenter Before Copilot Existed

In 2022 I built a Visual Studio extension that called the OpenAI completions API to generate code comments. Three years later I gave a talk at work on how effortless that same workflow had become. Here's what changed, and what building the plumbing yourself teaches you that using the polished tools doesn't.

Building a Holds & Releases Workflow Engine for Multi-Carrier Insurance e-Applications

Most developers haven't dealt with insurance carrier integrations — the ACORD XML spec, asynchronous SFTP status feeds, and the coordination complexity of a single application touching four carriers simultaneously. Here's how the workflow engine worked.

Let's talk

I'm currently open to full-time remote opportunities — particularly in .NET / Azure environments. If you're building something interesting or want to talk through a role, I'd love to hear from you.
